The Child Study Team (CST) consists of the Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant, School Psychologist, School Social Worker and when applicable, a specialist in the area of Speech/Language. This team will discuss if an evaluation is necessary and determine the nature and scope of the evaluation. The parent must provide written consent for any evaluation to proceed. These discussions and decisions occur at a Planning Meeting.
Once the evaluation process is complete, an Eligibility meeting is held. If evaluations have revealed that a student has a disability and is eligible for special education and/or related services, an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) will be developed. This usually occurs at the IEP meeting, held immediately following the Eligibility meeting. The IEP team consists of the case manager (a member of the CST) parent, and teachers. The IEP will be reviewed annually.
