Mrs. Lauren Malaney began her career as a special educator in 2005. She has been employed as a paraprofessional, a teacher, an instructional coach (K-8), and as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University for the Secondary & Special Education Department. Prior to her arrival to Oceanport in 2018, Mrs. Malaney worked in Bergen County, New Jersey, where she grew up. Mrs. Malaney holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and certificates in supervision, elementary, and special education. In addition to serving as Oceanport's Director of Special Services, Mrs. Malaney is also the Director of Preschool, the Director of ESL, the Anti-Bullying Coordinator, and the District's Homeless Liaison. Lauren is a passionate advocate of inclusive education and mental health acceptance. She is formally trained in Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness.
