NOTICE TO OCEANPORT & SEA BRIGHT RESIDENTS

BOARD VACANCY

Please take notice that due to the resignation of a Board of Education member, there is a vacancy on the Oceanport Board of Education. The members of the Board will appoint an applicant to fill this unexpired seat until the 2026 Reorganization meeting. Interested members of the public are encouraged to apply by submitting your letter or email of interest to:

Letters of Interest are due no later than August 8, 2025.

To be seated on the Board, the successful applicant (i) must be a citizen of the United States; (ii) must have been a resident of Oceanport or Sea Bright for no less than one year immediately preceding the member's appointment; (iii) must be able to read and write; (iv) must be registered to vote in the Oceanport or Sea Bright and not disqualified from voting pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:4-1; (v) must not have been convicted of a crime or offense as listed in N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1; and (vi) cannot concurrently hold office as mayor or a member of the governing body of Oceanport or Sea Bright.

The Board will review letters of interest, interview candidates, and make an appointment within 65 days of the July 16, 2025 vacancy.
