Mrs. Melissa Keiser
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the newly appointed principal of Maple Place Middle School. I am honored to join a school community where the success of our students is at the forefront of all that we do!
I am a graduate of Monmouth University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. I then went on to continue my education at New Jersey City University and Montclair University, where I received Master's degrees as a Reading Specialist and in Educational Leadership. For the past twenty-three years, I have been a dedicated educator, having spent fourteen years as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in both the general and special education settings, and the past nine years working as a school administrator with experience as an English Language Arts Supervisor while also serving as an Elementary Principal. These collective experiences have led me to my overarching belief that the success of a school depends on the collaboration of the school faculty, parents, and the community.
I hold true to the belief that all students can learn at high levels, and it is my goal to ensure that our children continue to receive a quality education each and every day in a safe and nurturing environment where they are encouraged to take risks and try new things. I am committed to working in partnership with faculty and staff, families, and the community at large in order to support our children in reaching their full potential.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family - my husband, Ben, our son, Benjamin, and our two pups, Violet & Franklin. I love reading, swimming, and spending time in the Adirondack Mountains.
I look forward to learning and growing together as I begin my first year at Maple Place.
