Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Joanne Bohner

A Little About Me...

Hello, my name is Mrs. Joanne Bohner and I love teaching!  My philosophy of teaching focuses on the individual child...his/her emotional and academic needs and the teaching strategies to help each child achieve his/her highest potential.

I graduated from The University of Dayton in 1989 with BS degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I joined the wonderful Oceanport staff a year later.  I was a Resource Center Teacher for ten years and during that time earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Georgian Court College.  After a three year maternity leave, I returned to teaching and have been a part-time Intervention Teacher for the last eleven years.  In 2014 I became certified in the Wilson System of Reading.  My teaching assignments currently include a mixture of Intervention, ELL, In Class Support, and Resource Center Classes.

I live in Middletown, NJ with my husband and three children.  When I am not cheering my children on at hockey games and swim meets, I like to cook, garden and organize.

I check my e-mail frequently and that is the best way to get in touch with me.  I am delighted to work with your children and look forward to an exciting year.
